During the 2020 pandemic everything feels really intense. Our community can seem so far away at times. Online engagement is all good and fine to get us through the hard times, but physical intimacy is so important to mental health that we shouldn’t forget what it’s like or be afraid of it in the future. I painted this piece to remind us that the clouds will finally part, we will be able to be physically close again, we will experience IRL affection, we will revel in our ability to touch one another. The dawn WILL come again, and if we allow ourselves, we will be born anew along with it.
