Byblos
Energized by the beauty of Lebanon, I designed this mural to reflect Its rich history. The ancient Phoenician alphabet was first discovered in the region of Byblos, which is an important precursor to many alphabets we use today. I aim to inspire the passerby to imagine they could step into these sun drenched ruins as if they were stepping back in time.
Byblos is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, with a history that stretches back over 7,000 years. Its origins can be traced to the Neolithic period, arounod 5000 BCE, when it was initially settled as a fishing and trading village. the development of the Phoenician alphabet an ad the spread of its influence. By night, the city transforms, becoming a lively hub with music in pubs, and a vibrant atmosphere.
