I am writing a Substack to help me make sense of the times we’re living in. Things feel intense, chaotic, and sometimes surreal. Writing helps me slow down, think more clearly, and notice what’s moving beneath the surface. I’m sharing what I find in case it helps others who might be in a similar place—people looking for meaning, direction, or a way to stay human in a world that often feels anything but.

I’ll probably write about whatever feels urgent or alive to me at the moment—art, politics, myth, history, resistance, the future. But I’ll be looking at all of it through a Mythomorphic lens.

What does that mean?
To me, Mythomorphic means shaped by symbols and story. I believe stories (and their related symbols) change the way we see the world—and not just in an abstract way. They change how we act, how we respond, and how society is organized. Narratives not only reflect reality, they can create it.

I think it’s time to identify how these narratives- some obvious, some swimming in the deep currents of our collective psyche- are playing out in real time. It may also help us determine the course of action to take in our own lives and as a society.

If any of this resonates with you—if you’ve been feeling the tremors beneath the surface, if you’re searching for meaning or just trying to stay rooted in your own humanity—I invite you to walk with me. Signal Fires isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about paying attention, asking better questions, and finding the hidden threads that connect our stories to something larger.

Let’s see where they lead.
