Descent into the Depths

It was clear that no one had descended on this path for centuries. Immense, columnar crystals stood like sentinels gleaming in the lava-light. The molten earth had reclaimed most of the builders’ structures and statues, though some broken remnants remained. Still, they felt watched, and debated on how they could cross.
